Symptoms to be aware of...

Unfortunately many young people who have an undiagnosed heart condition and are at risk of sudden cardiac death do not have any symptoms.   This is why Jay' AIM encourages as many young people as possible to attend screening events.

CRY recommend that you should see a doctor if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • Dizziness
  • Fainting
  • Breathlessness
  • Palpitations
  • Exercise related chest pains

The NHS advise that you should call 999 for an ambulance immediately if you have severe chest pain that lasts longer than 15 minutes and feels heavy, tight, pressing or spreads to other parts of your body such as your arms, back or jaw.
